Roasted Phool Makhana Chaat is a healthy and simple recipe, ideal for a tea-time snack.


Ingredients:

  • Phool Makhana: 2.5 cups

  • Red Chili Powder: 1 teaspoon

  • Oil: 2 teaspoons

  • Turmeric Powder: 2 pinches

  • Roasted Cumin Powder: ½ teaspoon

  • Amchur Powder: ½ teaspoon

  • Chaat Masala: 1 teaspoon

  • Onion: 1, finely chopped

  • Tomato: ½, finely chopped

  • Coriander Leaves: A few, chopped


Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Chop Ingredients: Finely chop the onion, tomato, and coriander leaves.

  2. Season the Makhana: Heat oil in a pan. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, and amchur powder. Stir quickly to combine the spices.

  3. Roast the Makhana: Immediately add the phool makhana to the pan. Mix well and roast for 2-3 minutes, being careful not to burn them.

  4. Prepare to Serve: Turn off the heat. You can enjoy the spicy roasted phool makhana at this stage.

  5. Combine and Mix: Transfer the roasted makhana to a large bowl. Add the chopped onions, tomatoes, and coriander leaves. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the mixture and toss everything together.

  6. Serve: Serve immediately for the best taste and freshness.


Tips:

  • You can prepare roasted makhana in advance and store it in an airtight container.

  • When ready to make the chaat, simply add the fresh ingredients to the roasted makhana.

  • For extra flavor, consider adding pomegranate seeds to the chaat.

  • To enhance the taste, you can also mix in green chutney or sweet chutney.
